Summer is officially here and we couldn’t be happier! Who needs the beach when sunlight is streaming through the windows at BOSS HQ?! We love seeing snaps of our all our models, creatives and supporting artists enjoying the beach, barbecuing on the weekend or hanging out in a beer garden. Check out what the staff at BOSS have been enjoying this month!
Debra, Managing Director and Founder
This August we are heading over to Dublin and then touring the country in our 39 year old trusty camper van. Look out Ireland! I might just sample a glass of the black stuff to keep me going.
Rhiannon, Casting Booker
I’m looking forward to helping out at a musical theatre summer school in Sheffield next week. The children are doing ‘Guys and Dolls’ which is one of my favourites. Many years ago I was one of Adelaide’s dancing ladies, so it’s nostalgic to be involved in this show! I’m also looking forward to the last bank holiday weekend of the year as its Gay Pride and I’m performing with Manchester Show Choir – can’t wait! I’m also hoping the sun finally shows and we get a nice summery month at last.
Joe, Scouting and Development
I am loving the new season of Game of Thrones – completely gripped!
Sadie, Front of House
I am actually secretly already looking forward to winter starting. I think we’ve had our summer, and now I’m ready for layers, jumpers and nights-in being acceptable again!
Jennie, Model Booker
I’m looking forward to a weekend away in the South Downs with my Fiancé Andy to celebrate our three year Anniversary. We are trying to make the most of our time together before the two of us become three!
Gareth, Head Booker
I’ve just finished reading Tim Marshall’s book ‘Prisoners of Geography: Ten Maps That Tell You Everything You Need to Know About Global Politics.’ If you haven’t already seen the film What The Health, it’s a must see film that will hopefully turn you all vegetarians/vegans! http://www.whatthehealthfilm.com/
Raimi, New Faces
I am looking forward to winter starting – even though my body feels like it’s already winter! I’ve still not adjusted after my travels and I’m buying myself a winter wardrobe #ConfessionsOfAShopaholic.
Right now I am being a complete groupie and loving the Canadian Band ‘Walk of the Earth.’ Taekwondo is possibly the cheesiest song ever but it takes me back to running around fields and diving into lakes in Canada.
Amanda, Agency Manager
I’m loving flip flops this August! I am also excited that me and the salty sea dog that is Big Mac, along with our four offspring, are heading to Greece to sail around the islands of the Ionian. The annual voyage always concludes with Stay with Me by Sam Smith, it reminds me, and hopefully the rest of the crew, just how lucky we are to be together and doing what we are doing!
Patrick, Agency Assistant
I recently watched Dunkirk at the cinema, and thought it was really good.
Richard, Studio Manager
I’m getting ready for a motorbike holiday around Spain so I’m reading Sonny Barger’s – a Hells Angel – autobiography. Not that I’m going to be an outlaw on holiday, but loving the idea of the freedom of the road.
August for me is busy busy, with some of my favourite birthdays coming up – although not my own unfortunately. I’m super excited for camping in Wales over the bank holiday weekend and climbing Snowdon. My fitness has taken a little bit of a dive since my most recent holiday (obviously) so I can’t wait to get out into the fresh air and work up a sweat. I’m hoping the weather will be nice too as I’m all for the summertime and would like to stretch it out as much as possible!
For anyone wanting to read a good novel, I’ve just finished ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’ by Thomas Hardy. I don’t really want to recommend it because it actually made me cry, however it was a very good read by a very good writer.
Alex, Social Media Coordinator
I am so excited to read all the September issues of magazines that come out at this time of year. Especially British Vogue which features our very own Toni Bagley in the latest Burberry campaign! I’ve also been watching a new series on Netflix called ‘Ozark.’ It’s a crime/comedy/thriller about an accountant who is laundering money for a Mexican drugs cartel and it is somehow really intense but lighthearted at the same time.
Lauren, Senior Booker
What is there not to love about August? This weather makes for a glorious British summertime…aka planning an awesome long haul to somewhere sunny and tropical in the Autumn. Surf’s up dudes!
It was my mum’s birthday this week and we always go up to the caravan to celebrate. It’s also the start of the football season, so my dad and I went to watch the Preston North End game against Sheffield Wednesday and we won!
