Make your own pumpkin face mask

Stop! Don’t throw away the leftover pumpkin from your halloween creations. As well as reducing food waste, you can use the flesh that you scrape out from the inside of your pumpkin to refresh your skin. The enzymes found in pumpkin are perfect for exfoliating the top later of dead skin from your face and the vegetable is full of vitamin A.

Use a big scoop of your leftover pumpkin insides as well as, 1/4 cup plain yoghurt, 3 tbsp honey, 1/4 cup oats and 3tbsp coconut oil. You can also add a pinch of nutmeg if you are prone to acne and inflammation, or cinnamon to promote healthy blood flow.

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and apply to your face – be careful as this can get messy! Leave on for 15 mins and wash off with lukewarm water. If you make too much, the rest of the mixture will keep in the fridge for about two weeks.
