Boss Casting hold outstanding relationships with a plethora of productions across the UK and provide talented supporting artists, walk ons and actors for well known television shows. We were thrilled to see so many of the productions we work with represented at the BAFTA Television Awards last weekend.

Casualty won best soap and continuing drama, and we were excited to see three of the soaps we work alongside nominated.

Coronation Street – nominated for soap and continuing drama

Coronation Street continues to be one of our regular and best loved bookings on a weekly basis. We love the soaps!  We have had some really exciting walk ons recently including central character Luke’s Mum and Dad.

Emmerdale  – nominated for soap and continuing drama

We have a lot of regular bookings from Emmerdale so much so that many of our supporting artists will be included in upcoming secret storylines. So make sure to keep watching to see what plot twists and turns will occur whilst spotting some familiar team Boss faces! Most recently in the Yorkshire Dales based soap you will see our artists playing press photographers, young offenders and solicitors.

Hollyoaks – nominated for soap and continuing drama

Our walk ons and supporting artists have been included in many challenging story lines including the recent episodes that tackled the homeless issue as well as the central character Steven’s murder trial. Recognisable regular faces on the soap include Peter Cadman and Mikie Bucknor who play builders and David Leung who is the desk sergeant at Dee Valley police station.

Peter Kay’s Car Share – Nominated for leading actress

We supplied hundreds of supporting artists on this programme! Some of the memorable scenes included a lady being painted blue and dressed as a Smurf, and people driving stunt cars whilst Peter Kay ran across the top of them!  We also had a variety of walk on artists, the most notable being the two Ted characters pushing the shopping trolleys – fantastic!

Little Boy Blue – Winner of best supporting actor and nominated for leading actress

As this was based on the tragic true story of how eleven year old Rhys Jones lost his life in 2007 it was still vivid in people’s memories and lots of our artists were keen to work on it.  In particular, we supplied many ex police men and women who had first-hand experience of similar events that happened in this story.  It was as if our people wanted to show their support.

Peaky Blinders – Winner of best drama series

Its fantastic to be a part of this production – it’s extremely popular and deservedly so. Lots of the scenes were filmed right here where we are in the Northern Quarter which made it exciting as there was such a buzz in the public surrounding it.  We had a steady supply of supporting artists each week on this, one great scene in particular was the boxing ring showdown.  If you keep your eyes peeled there are a whole horde of Boss artists involved in the crowd!

Boss Casting are delighted to be a part of the production process for so many outstanding television programmes.  Our talented performers help us maintain strong relationships with all of the productions we liaise with. We look forward to seeing what upcoming productions will be represented in next years award ceremony. Congratulations to all the nominees – we are so proud of you.
