Debbie Horsfield: Retrospective of One of Manchester’s Most Influential Women

In the 30 years Boss has been in the industry, it’s fair to say that we have seen many key moments in the beautiful history of Manchester and had the privilege of working with some of the most influential people and top productions.

This weekend, HOME is staging a retrospective event on Manchester’s very own Debbie Horsfield, as part of their “Celebrating Women in Global Cinema” season – something very close to our hearts! A well-established writer of popular drama on British television, Debbie is said to be one of the UK’s most loved writers who changed the face of British television.

Boss Casting and our artists have worked on multiple productions Debbie has produced and written over the years, including ‘Cutting It’, which was set over the road from the Boss offices in what is now The Abel Heywood pub & hotel, and starred Sarah Parish who is currently the lead in another production our SAs are busy on: Bancroft.

We are very excited for this event to take place in the heart of Manchester, not least because it is HOME, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving to be celebrated in this fantastic way.
