Lily Flynn is no stranger to the catwalk. Our Boss babe is always travelling the globe working with top high fashion brands.
She’s worked with the likes of Dolce & Gabbana on many occasions, including this year for their SS19 collection in Milan. Whilst out in Milan Lily also walked for Italian luxury brand Armani. We caught up with her to hear all about what she got up to and her experience.
You’re a regular D&G girl now, how is it for walking for such a huge brand? Do you still get nerves?
Always, and even though you have walked for a brand previously there is never any guarantee you will walk for them again. So you always have to be at your best for the casting. I love D&G, representing a brand I personally love is a dream come true and every season just gets better and better.
From your first D&G show to now, how do you feel you’ve grown as a model?
Obviously, the first time I did it I was racked with nerves, more so because I walked with some of the biggest names in the business like Karen Elson, another Boss girl, but everyone is just so lovely. I learnt a lot from that show and I feel that my confidence grows every season. My walk is definitely much stronger now.
You walked for two major brands this MFW, how did the two vary?
Well, my first show was for Armani, I had cast for this show three times previously. Castings are often a 3 tier selection process. My first time I didn’t get past the door, the second time I got to walk but didn’t get any further, the 3rd time I made it to the fitting but again didn’t get confirmed. This time I finally made the cut and got confirmed. For me, this was a huge achievement and my confidence soared.
How different are the Milan shows to the London shows?
I have walked for Paul Costelloe and Aadneik during LFW but personally, I think I am more suited to the Milan market as I get more casting opportunities which, in turn, gives me more confidence.
We saw you bumped into Mr Armani and Georgia May Jagger, what did they say to you?!
It was Mr Armani who made his final selection of girls for the show. He was a really nice man and I felt very humbled to be in his presence. I still keep pinching myself that I actually made it this time around. I met Georgia May Jagger after she had watched the show. She was really friendly and happy to have a quick selfie with me. I think its really nice when celebs make the time for you.
What would be your dream brand to walk for next?
That’s a biggie, there are so many cool brands out there. I guess I would have to say, Versace. I’ve done Haute Couture for them twice before in Paris. I did a casting this fashion week for them. It was the most amazing casting I have ever done. It was at Versace HQ, the doors opened and the music pumped and you had to walk down a runway. Donatella was at the other end watching! I loved every second, it was the best experience ever, like something out of the movies. Who knows…maybe next time, keep fingers crossed for me!
What does 2019 hold for Lily?
I would have to say travel! I really want to use all of my recent achievements to take me to new destinations.
